The Taylor Memorial Lodge is operated by the Hugh and Alison Taylor Memorial Trust. The Trustees include members of the families of Hugh and Alison Taylor, former teachers of the then Hutt Valley Memorial College, and regular Lodge users. The Trust is a not-for-profit organisation and has charitable status with the Inland Revenue.

To create an environment where young people can experience the wonders of the New Zealand outdoors through the ongoing development of the Taylor Memorial Lodge at Pokaka.
